The O'Malley Foundation Board would like to congratulate Allie Strehle as the 2015 selection for the Thomas and Phyllis O'Malley Scholarship.  

This scholarship is awarded each year to a deserving graduate from Mound-Westonka High School in Mound, Minnesota.  

O'Malley Foundation Board elected Leo Thomas O'Malley as Vice President and Director to assist in managing the efforts of the O'Malley Foundation.  We look forward to having Leo's leadership as Vice President and on the board in helping guide the future of the O'Malley Foundation.

My Mother, Phyllis O'Malley, and the namesake for the Thomas and Phyllis O'Malley Scholarship passed away on July 15th, 2014.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.  She cared deeply about education and the scholarship honors her years of contribution to Westonka Public Schools.

We were delighted to receive the following letter of appreciation from Kevin Borg, Superintendent of Schools for the Mound-Westonka School District.  

2013 marks our 15th year sponsoring the Thomas and Phyllis O'Malley Scholarship that has been awarded to 20 deserving graduates of Mound-Westonka High School.  The O'Malley Foundation is honored to have helped in a small way and appreciate the kind words of thanks.

Tomorrow marks the end of the Mayan calendar.  What shall happen?  We will be one day closer to Christmas and I will be one day further behind in my quest for gifts.

This last December, we celebrated my Mother's 90th birthday with a party in Chicago.  The event reminded of why we founded the O'Malley Foundation.  My Mother, Phyllis O'Malley, dedicated a big part of her life to supporting education in our community (Mound, MN), offering her smarts to worthy causes and helping those in need.  Her inspiration was the genesis of the O'Malley Foundation and I felt compelled to do a better job of documenting the good work that has been done in her honor.  As such, we've created this website to create greater awareness.

I hope that all the recipients of the Thomas and Phyllis O'Malley Scholarship are either doing well in college or onto successful careers.  Time passes so fast.  Just seems like yesterday that we awarded our first scholarship to Michael Younes.  I extend my congratulations to all of you and wish you and your families the very best.  I'm sure your life achievements would all make my mother very proud.
